"For comfort and effective treatment": Fair Mile Hospital 1870-2003

Following the award of a grant from The Wellcome Trust, Berkshire Record Office has made the archive of Fair Mile Hospital available for public research.  The hospital was previously Berkshire County Asylum and was situated in Cholsey.
