We will provide certain information free of charge.

This includes details about our records and other sources held at the Berkshire Record Office (BRO) and how they can be used for research.

It also includes guidance on where to look for records not held at the BRO.

Simple enquiries can often be answered by telephone, but where time is required to check sources we would prefer you to write to us or email us.

We aim to respond to enquiries within 5 working days of receiving them.
