Explore Your History at the Berkshire Record Office

Anyone can use the Berkshire Record Office (BRO). We are open to the public and you can consult any of the records free of charge. You can visit BRO in person or use our enquiry service. We can also arrange group visits and tours.

Do you want to uncover details of your family's past and piece together your family tree?  Do you wish to explore the history of your house?  Perhaps you have a broader interest in the Berkshire countryside or the River Thames, the county's architecture or institutions?  If so, then the BRO has both the collections and the expertise to help you on your journey into the past. Use the links on the left to find out more.
