Tours and Visits

Arrangements can be made for small groups to visit and have a tour of the Record Office. This is an opportunity to learn at first hand how the office works and to see behind the scenes.

The visit may include an introductory talk, a tour of part of the office, and an exhibition of original documents, including local material, by arrangement with the member of staff hosting the visit. A visit behind the scenes may also be possible.

The minimum size of group that can be accepted is 10, the maximum 30, depending on staff availability and the nature of the visit.

Arranging a Visit

Requests and arrangements should be made in writing to the address below several months in advance to ensure that staff will be available. This should be followed up by a written or telephoned confirmation a fortnight beforehand.
