Royal Berkshire Archives is very pleased to hold the national archive of Yellow Pages telephone directories on behalf of Hibu PLC.
This includes old copies of Yellow Pages from across the UK.
The first separate Yellow Pages volumes were produced in 1969. They covered a handful of major cities: Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, London and Manchester. At this date, Yellow Pages for other places were produced as part of local telephone directories, which RBA does not keep.
From 1975 to the present day the separate directories cover the whole of the UK (with the exception of Hull, which had an independent telecommunications company until 2005).
Unfortunately, a handful of volumes were missing from the collection when it was transferred to RBA; these volumes are presumed lost. Please note also that the directories are available only in their original, hard copy form.
You can visit us or ask us to carry out a search in the Yellow Pages for you.
